Snow in Wilsonville
Snow covered the sides of Interstate 5 at S.W. Wilsonville Road, about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
A slow-moving winter storm will sit over the greater Portland metro area through Wednesday morning, bringing accumulations of snow along with it, according to the National Weather Service.

The snow is expected to turn to rain later tonight for the central Willamette Valley, but may be mixed with freezing rain. No ice accumulation is expected.

This slow--moving cold air mass sits over the Northwest with a front offshore pushing precipitation into the region.

This precipitation will begin as snow, sleet and freezing rain this afternoon, then may transition into rain later this evening as warmer air moves into the region from the south.

It's possible, said the weather service, that some locations may receive up to 1 inch of snow, mainly on grassy surfaces and roadsides.

At 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, snow and sleet had turned to rain in the Corvallis and Eugene areas.

The temperature at the Aurora airport at 3:30 p.m. is 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

Rain will continue through the rest of the week.
