Kevin Moss A man was jailed Tuesday after an alleged road rage incident in Wilsonville.

Kevin Moss, 39, of Molalla, faces charges of second-degree disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal mischief after a driver accused Moss of trying to run him off the road and then getting out of his car and threatening him, according to Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 3 p.m. Tuesday, a man called 9-1-1 and reported threats from an aggressive driver. The victim told police that he noticed he was being tailgated by a white Chevrolet Tahoe as he crossed the freeway toward S.W. Grahams Ferry Road after taking the North Wilsonville exit off of Interstate 5.

Moss allegedly drove up next to the victim and swerved toward his car, supposedly trying to run him off the road. The victim told police that Moss drove into oncoming traffic to stay with him as he continued north on Grahams Ferry Road.

The victim then stopped at a red light at S.W. Day Road where, he told police, Moss got out of his Tahoe and approached the victim’s car, punching the passenger side window.

The victim rolled up the slightly-opened window, pinching Moss’ fingers. Moss cried out in pain and his fingers were released, according to the victim’s report to police. Moss made threats before returning to his Tahoe and leaving the scene.

The victim provided a sheriff’s deputy with a partial license plate number from the Tahoe and police were able to track it to Moss, whom they found at his nearby workplace.

Moss confirmed his involvement in the incident, but gave the sheriff’s deputy a different account of the story.

“His version of the story was he was simply asking the driver why he had been driving erratically,” WCSO Public Information Officer David Thompson said.

Evidence, such as damage to the victim’s door and fingerprints on the window and door, seem to mesh with the victim’s account of the story, Thompson said. However, he said the investigation is still underway and the fingerprints have not yet been identified.

So far, Thompson said the only accounts police have received came from the two men involved. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call WCSO at 503-629-0111.

Moss is being held at the Washington County Jail, with arraignment scheduled for 3 p.m. today (Wednesday). He also had a parole violation hold placed on him by his parole officer.
