Come to the WildCat Haven's "Back to the ‘50s Big Cat Bash" starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Melody Ballroom in Portland. The Aurora Colony Historical Society and Museum will hold its 37th Annual Quilt Show, "A Community of Quilts," from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. daily from Friday, Oct. 16, through Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Old Aurora Colony Musuem, located at the corner of 2nd and Liberty Streets in Aurora. More than 100 quilts will be on display throughout the historic five-building museum complex. Milburn's Boo Lane, a PG-rated kid's haunted adventure, will open from 7-10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22 at 11503 Broadacres Rd N.E. in Hubbard. Boo Lane is a a not-too-scary outside walk for a more family-oriented Halloween experience. Admission $5 per child, includes a free medium or small pumpkin (while supplies last) from Milburn's moon-lit pumpkin patch. One free adult admission with each child ticket purchased. The Wilsonville Family History Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints resumed its "First Tuesday" Internet genealogy series on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The first presentation provided a broad overview of the variety of web sites available for family history research. Subsequent classes to be offered through June will provide an in-depth review of online access to census and vital records, newspapers, cemetery and probate records, military and immigration records, and Native American genealogy. Fir Point Farms of Aurora will open the historic farm's pumpkin patch and hold its Fall Festival for the 19th consecutive year starting at 10 a.m. Saturday Sept. 26 and running each weekend through Halloween. Fir Point Farms is located on 35 acres and is a working farm, with the "Fall Festival" celebrating the traditional harvest. The farm will sell 500,000 pounds of pumpkins during the festival. The Fall Festival is free and open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m.. Many activities also are free. The I-5 Connection is an energetic song and dance troupe based in Wilsonville. The group is now welcoming newcomers of all ages to come down to the Wilsonville Community Center and join in on the fun.
