Dec. 23, 29900 block, S.W. Grahams Ferry Road at S.W. Malloy Way
– A 20-year-old Wilsonville resident was transported by ambulance to Meridian Park Hospital after his car lost control, fishtailed and hit a power pole.
A witness told police he was driving south on Grahams Ferry Road about 3:30 p.m.when a car came up behind him. He said the car was going about 60-70 miles per hour and had accelerated to pass him. Because of a curve in the road, the car moved back to the right lane, but went off the pavement onto the soft dirt shoulder. The witness said the other driver appeared to overcorrect, which caused the car to fishtail. It slid sideways through a power pole, snapping it at the base.
Police asked the driver about the accident, but he could not remember anything. He was transported to the hospital and cited for careless driving.
