Public versus private sector benefitsIn a recent West Linn/Wilsonville District school board meeting, parents were very upset at the benefits School Superintendent Roger Woehl will be receiving. When he retires after the school year of 2010-2011, the district will pay him $500 a month for four years and health insurance coverage until he is age 72. Perhaps those parents should compare the compensation of Woehl, a public sector superintendent of a high-achieving school district of 8,000 students, with former private sector Hewlett-Packard CEO, Mark Hurd.
