The Online Community Editor (OCE) based in Canby, OR is responsible for daily news which will be posted on the Web sites of five newspapers by 10 a.m. Mon. through Fri. The OCE will be responsible to the editors of the five newspapers and will be in constant communication with the editors to determine the overall content of each Web site. The OCE may be assigned other news related responsibilities by the editor. The ability to work under pressure and receive direction from multiple sources is essential. Position will include regular travel to each of the communities served.

Experience w/ news writing, editing and photography is essential. Excel. phone skills are necessary. Exper. w/ shooting and editing video a plus. Must possess excel. verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable and interested in the development of web-based news gathering and dissemination. A bachelor's degree in journalism, English or rlated area a plus. Spanish speaking a plus. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and proof-of-insurability req'd.

This position will start at 20 hrs/wk, but could develop into a full time position. Starting wage is $15/hr. EOE. Pre-employment drug screen and motor vehicle driver check is req'd.
